Leaders for Change 2026

Are you ready to represent your school as a World Vision Leader for Change in 2026?

There are 4 places for open application next year!

As a World Vision Leader for Change you will attend four days of global education, leadership development and social action training. This is an all-expenses-paid (including travel if you are from outside of Auckland) Summit hosted by World Vision from Wednesday 14th to Saturday 17th January 2026 in Auckland.

The aim of the summit is to educate, inspire and mobilise students to lead social justice action at school in 2026. You will develop your understanding of global issues and be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools you need to lead your communities.

We want to develop your leadership potential through leading the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge in your school next year, so you can apply your learnings through Term 1 and 2. Therefore, you must be a Year 12 or 13 in 2026, willing and able to lead your School to participate in the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge.

Please apply if:
  • You are passionate about social justice and change, having shown leadership in previous social actions.
  • Have the ability to engage and mobilise others with strong communication skills.
  • You will have the support of your school’s management as a suitable representative of your school.
  • Be committed to leading the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge in 2026.
These are the selection criteria!

We want to set you up for success, so this is what will be expected of you from this two-term investment in your leadership skills.
  • Create and lead a team of students to mobilise your school community for the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge.
  • Participate in the World Vision Youth Conference (including stage time, event closest to home town/city).
