In the Pacific and Southeast Asia, the threads that keep children safe are wearing thin. Poverty pulls at them, disasters tear at them and it’s children who pay the price.
You can help weave that safety and well-being back together. Through WOVEN, you can protect children, help them grow strong and support them to reach their full potential.
WOVEN is a 10-year partnership between World Vision and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, through the New Zealand Aid Programme. Together, we walk alongside children and families in the Pacific and Southeast Asia as they overcome violence, hunger, poverty, and the growing effects of climate change.
Phase 1 of the partnership ran from 2020 to 2026, and Phase 2 began in March 2026. Working together, we are helping keep children safe, improving nutrition, building better ways for families to earn a living, and helping whole communities grow stronger for the years ahead.
of children under five in Papua New Guinea have stunted growth.
of women and girls aged 15-49 in Timor-Leste experienced physical or sexual violence by their partners.
of women in Laos marry before the age of 15.
of rural residents in Papua New Guinea have no ability to borrow money from banks to grow and secure their livelihoods.
Some of the highest rates of stunting in the world are found across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Stunting happens when a child misses out on good food in their first years of life. It harms their health and their learning for the rest of their lives. And after the age of two, the damage cannot be undone.
The good news is that stunting can be prevented. If we catch it in time. Through WOVEN you can help us find the children who need support through growth monitoring. You can also help us provide education programmes aimed at parents about good nutrition.
You can also help families raise animals and grow vegetables, so they can stop stunting for good.

Violence in the home affects children across the Pacific and Southeast Asia. Together, we are working with communities to create safe places where children feel protected, have space to grow and to reach their potential.
Many parents do not earn enough to give their children the basics. Together, we’re helping families grow their income so they can provide food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and schooling.
Too many children across the Pacific and Southeast Asia go without the food they need to grow up healthy. Together, we are helping families learn how to feed their children a nourishing, varied diet, so they can grow up strong.
Ms Khanpi, Laos
Khanpi is the only woman in her village to have job training, and she has become a role model for others. Through the SNAP project, her village gained clean water systems, including pipes that carry safe water, along with new latrines. And it changed daily life for everyone in the village.
“Before, we suffered from diseases like diarrhoea. Now we have clean water, better hygiene, and our children are healthier,” Khanpi shares. “The SNAP project lightened the load on women and children, and helped us build a healthier, safer home.”
“Thanks to World Vision and donors, our lives are better, and we pass that light on to future generations.”
Support more people like Khanpi
More women are safer in Vanuatu as men’s justification of violence against their partners dropped from 60% to 6%.
4,137 people in Laos now have clean, safe water, after we built nine new water systems and repaired seven more.
6,537 people in Papua New Guinea came to nutrition and hygiene sessions and learned how to help their children grow healthy and strong.
WOVEN builds on more than 20 years of World Vision and the New Zealand Aid Programme working side by side across the Pacific and Southeast Asia.
With your help, we reached over 36,000 people in Phase 1, including children and their families, across Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Laos, and Timor-Leste. In Phase 2, we aim to reach more than 132,000 people.
Together, we are tackling the hard problems that cause children to suffer most: poverty, hunger, and violence. That means facing the harmful attitudes, the unfair treatment of women and girls, and the environmental pressures that push children to the edges of their communities.
And because of this partnership, every $1 you give will grow to $3 to protect and care for children across our region.
